In the past, your marketing success was directly correlated to the depth of your wallet. Today, its directly correlated to the depth of your mind.
It’s no longer necessary to spend tons of money on paid advertising.
Instead, the focus should be on producing exceptional content and, lots of it.
The process doesn’t stop there though.
In order to be successful your content must be,
- Optimized for search
- Published (obviously)
- Marketed through your blog and social media channels
- Evaluated to determine what is working and what isn’t working
Its important to not have the mindset that you should keep all of your knowledge to yourself. The more you give, the more you get.
Lots of useful and compelling content produced = more links back to your website and higher ranking in search.
Its the gift that keepings on giving. The links never go away, so as you produce new content, the traffic builds on itself giving you new traffic on top of the traffic you’re getting on your old content.
There are many different types of content (blogs, videos, webinars, podcasts, webcasts, visuals) so make sure to test each one to determine the type that works best for your specific market.
Gauge your progress.
- How many websites are linking back to your website?
- How many times is your content being shared to social media?
- How many pages on your site are being indexed by Google?
There are free online tools that will give you these numbers.
And, if you’re not happy with the numbers its simple enough to change up your content strategy plan.
