Do you search for life changing answers?
By Marcellus Montalvo
I do. I browse different websites and publications for thought provoking articles on a regular basis.
What I found was a post by Marc Chernoff entitled “50 Questions That Will Free Your Mind”.
It is important for all of us to examine ourselves as we wander through life.
In a ten part series of posts, I am going to answer these questions.
Think of this series as a conversation. There are no correct or incorrect answers, only your points of view. I look forward to conversations that will unfold.
1. How old would you be if you didn’t know how old you are?
I have always thought of myself as younger that my chronological age suggests. While I am knocking on the door of 40 years old, my first instinct is to say 30 or 31 years old. There is no reason to say that other than it’s what pops into my mind.
2. Which is worse, failing or never trying?
Never trying is worse for me. However, I battle with myself as there are many occasions that I do not try. It’s definitely something that I look to improve. We only live once.
3. If life is so short, why do we do so many things we don’t like and like so many things we don’t do?
This one is a hard damn pill to swallow for me. I do a lot of things that I don’t like. Instead of thinking, “What’s my answer for this?” I find myself thinking, “What’s my action to do more things that I like, and reduce doing the things that I don’t?”
4. When it’s all said and done, will you have said more than you’ve done?
After some inward reflection, I realize that I have said WAY more things than I’ve done so far. We all have time to change this type of trend and start DOING more. Writing, for example, is one thing I’ve said I do. Now I just write more. I am not going down without a fight to change this as much as possible with the time I have left.
5. What is the one thing you’d most like to change about the world?
I would most like to change the way we treat our planet. Humans seem to continue to pollute the earth at will. I don’t see us getting another Earth anytime soon.
Again – these are answers from one perspective. The goal is to get you to look inward and discover what answers unfold. Let’s get the conversation started. We may even find that some of the answers you come up with help others out. Here’s to you.
