Books have changed my life for the better in more ways than I can imagine.
One of my favorite things to do is take someone else’s experience doing something, and see if I can do it too. I think of it as a personal challenge. Something that may have taken a person years to accomplish or learn about, we try to learn and execute in a shorter time frame.
I personally attempt to accomplish this in two ways:
- Find or hire amazing people: coaches, thought leaders and mentors… and learn directly from them.
- Read their books.
Reading books is obviously a lot easier, and in most cases it’s cheaper than hiring a coach or mentor. With little upfront investment, and some time to read each book, you can take years of anyone’s expertise and “download” that information directly into your own brain like Neo from The Matrix.

This really is a fantastic list of books. The new year has led me to try and update my “business” way of thinking as much as possible and breathe some new life into my way of managing and handling challenges in the workplace. I’m really happy I found this blog (Thanks!). I thought I would also add a must read to the list called “Think Wrong” (http://www.thinkwrongbook.com/). Here is a book that was written by a group of people who spend their days training and coaching leaders and teams as well as running immersive workshops on how to drive positive change and introducing this new and ingenious problem solving system. The book got me excited and it felt like I really was reading something new and not the usual “cliche” business book. If you are feeling stuck and trying the same thing over and over again you MUST check out this book
